Overview

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Psychology, Journalism & Computer Science (PJC) is a three-year interdisciplinary undergraduate program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in human behaviour, media communication, and modern technological skills. It offers a balanced blend of scientific understanding, creative expression, and digital competence—preparing students for diverse professional pathways in both social sciences and emerging media-tech fields.

The curriculum covers key areas such as General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Media Writing, Reporting Techniques, Communication Theories, Programming Fundamentals, Web Technologies, and Data Analytics. Students gain hands-on experience through psychological assessments, content creation projects, newsroom simulations, coding labs, and media production activities.

Practical exposure is enriched through field visits, internships, research projects, media assignments, and workshops conducted by industry experts. This applied learning approach helps students develop critical thinking, strong communication abilities, technological proficiency, and a deep understanding of human behaviour.

Graduates of the program are equipped to pursue careers as Psychology Assistants, Content Writers, Journalists, Digital Media Executives, Research Coordinators, Data Analysts, HR Assistants, Counsellor Trainees, and professionals in various media and technology-driven sectors. They can also advance into higher studies such as M.Sc Psychology, Counselling, Journalism, Mass Communication, Digital Media, or Computer Science specializations.

Eligibility for Admission

A candidate who has passed two years Pre-University Examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission to these programmes.
